Local Acts of Kindness
​
Beyond monetary support, we also believe in giving back to others thru acts of kindness. Simple touches like collecting food baskets for the holidays, snacks for first responders, and bedding items for a shelter are just a start. Below are a few others. If you are interested in helping or learning more, click the buttons next to the story.

Food Pantry
We are a member of the Connecticut Food Bank. On the 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:00-11:00 am we have our pantry handout(may change due to holidays). If school is canceled due to weather, we are closed as well for safety.

Thanksgiving handouts must be signed up for in October and you can only sign up at one pantry location in the state.

Acts 4 welcomes you to join them on an amazing journey of faith by serving those in need. Their team collects and distributes reusable furniture, clothing, and housewares. If you in need, or would like to donate, contact them here.

On the first Saturday of each month, our men's group gets together and delivers items to families in need. If you would like to donate your time to this cause contact the church here.
Sandwich Brigade
Once a month we make lunches that are passed out to the homeless. Since 2015, we have made over 6,000 sandwiches - approximately 20-30 a month. All of our bags go to support the Brian Gibbons Homeless Outreach program(see below).
We are always looking for donations of prepackaged snacks and $5 and under gift cards to fast food places and gas stations that are used to fill the bags. If you would like to assist in our project by donating items please click below.

Homeless Outreach Program
Our dear friend Brian, 'the defender of the defenseless' passed away in 2014. His mission was to help the homeless in Waterbury and the surrounding area and 'give them hope'. Rick Povolitis has filled his shoes wonderfully.

We aid his program with sandwiches and supplies all thru the year and enjoy participating in their fundraisers.
